Physics Studio is an independent educational platform for Cambridge International AS & A Level Physics (9702) revision. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, sign-in method and, if you choose to add them, your grade, country and time zone.
- Study activity: questions attempted, answers you submit, favourites, syllabus confidence ratings and notes, streaks, XP, achievements and ruby balance.
- Feedback you send: question reports and site suggestions, including any text you write.
- Purchase records: order and subscription identifiers, product purchased, status and dates. We never see or store your full card details.
- Technical data: basic server logs (such as request time, page requested and IP address) used to keep the service secure and working.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To save your progress and show your statistics, streaks and achievements.
- To provide Premium features and apply purchases after a payment is confirmed.
- To fix errors in questions you report and improve the site.
- To prevent abuse, fraud and unauthorised access.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.
Services we share data with
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data only to run Physics Studio:
- Clerk — account sign-up, sign-in and session management (name, email, sign-in method).
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and tax handling as merchant of record. Your payment details are entered on their checkout and handled under their own privacy policy.
- Render — hosting of the website and its database.
- jsDelivr — delivery of the MathJax library used to display equations. Your browser requests this file directly, which shares your IP address with that network.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your theme and recent progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep data
We keep account and study data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used, by emailing us from the address linked to your account. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Students under 18
Physics Studio is designed for students aged 13 and over. If you are under the age required to consent to online services where you live, please use Physics Studio with the permission of a parent or guardian, and ask them to make any purchases. If you believe a child has given us information without the required consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to Physics Studio are encrypted, passwords are handled by Clerk rather than stored by us, and access to account data is restricted. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please keep your sign-in details private.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you on the site.
